Joe Fortes’ Chocolate Raspberry Truffle Tart Joe Fortes restaurant sent this recipe and the tart to The Sun newsroom. It is decadent, but what’s Valentine’s without putting on a few ounces? You can always hold back on the whip ... continue The Vancouver Sun

While we were at the restaurant everything was pretty good. The clamp chowder is very potatoes heavy and kind of boring but all the food tasted very good. This meal was a treat for me and my fiance and I ordered the soup and a main with prawns on the side because I love seafood and variety. I wasn't expecting to finish all the food and was actually planning to take the extras home for lunch the next day. I ate around half of my main, maybe less, and was proud of myself for not eating until I was stuffed. When I opened my take home container it was half full, and it was a small one. I am very confident that I only took home around half of what I had left, I feel cheated and ripped off. This one silly thing tainted the whole experience for me, I would have eaten more food while there if I couldn't take it home. Maybe this is tacky but this is something small for the restaurant and big for people who are spending hard earned money at this pricey restaurant. GooglePlace - February 2017

Excellent service and delicious meals. For lunch on weekdays, they have a $10 blue plate special which is very good value! For a few extra bucks you can add on a starter (soup or salad) and dessert. GooglePlace - February 2017

I can say now Joe Fortes Seafood restaurant is the best in Vancouver! Food is delicious, service is great, atmosphere is warm and cozy. There a guy played on the piano and it was amazing. When I was there I felt it is 1920th, gentlemen are wearing tuxedos, ladies are in long dresses. By the way, this restaurant has a nice history. I recommend you to go there and have enjoyable time! My friend's birthday party, we had very good time there. I like fresh oysters in happy hour. Oyster oil and balsamic are amazing combination, it goes well with bread. We had seafood trio of the day and NY tenderloin. And it was surprised that they gave us birthday dessert. Everything was lovely! GooglePlace - January 2017

I came in with a very critical eye because I had heard great things from some friends who had recently visited. Some relatives from out of town had invited me out and on their suggestion we chose Joe Fortes. Upon walking in, I was greeted with a very polite and attentive hostess who had been made aware by my relatives that I'd be in a few minutes later than them. She immediately directed me to them and offered to "catch me up" on a drink. We were sitting in the bar area while we awaited our table to be cleared. The hostess returned, informing us that the table was ready, she took our drinks onto a tray so that only she could be blamed if they spilled during the relocation and we proceeded to a nice table upstairs. We walked past a piano on the staircase - so that's where the ambient piano was coming from. Flipping through the menu, I was drawn to the lobster and oysters and as a group we decided to get both and split as an appetizer/side dish. I chose the swordfish as my main having never tried it before. Everything was presented very well and the flavours were outstanding. It's not a cheap place, for an entree appetizer and a drink, each person would be looking at 75 bucks best guess however for the overall experience, it was outstanding. Thank you!
