Description

Welcome to Nightingale where modern Canadian cuisine gets social. Our approach to dining introduces simple seasonal dishes — packed with natural flavour — that focus on quality, excellence and fun. Served up in a lively space, our fresh crudo and charcuterie, creative house-made pastas, pizzas, crisp salads and seasonal veggie dishes can be enjoyed with friends old and new; paired with local craft beers, complementing wines or on-tap gin & tonics from the buzzing bar. Nightingale’s name is inspired by Aesop’s Fable of the Hawk & the Nightingale, which tells the story of a hungry hawk who chooses to keep his tiny nightingale instead of waiting for a bigger bird to come along: it gives us the proverb ‘A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush’. Join us in celebrating the here and now at Nightingale.

It’s a family style concept. There’s a policy on no modifications to any menu item makes it difficult when you have an allergy. Food is flavourful but not worth a 2nd visit. Pricey, nice atmosphere. Foursquare - October 2017

Came in for an "early dinner". We called ahead but they had no reservations available, the place was packed so we had to wait for about 5 minutes which was surprising. Food is amazing and the pizzas are excellent. I would definitely not order the zucchini blossom pizza again though. It sounded amazing but it only had one flower for the entire pizza! So next time I will for sure go with the truffle pizza. Solid cocktails and good service. Host/hostess are a little confused and it becomes annoying but servers are awesome. Prices are on the higher end but the food is worth it. Place is a little loud for chatting and the people there are a bit snobby but if you can look past that then you can have an amazing meal and drinks! GooglePlace - September 2017

We enjoyed all aspects of the restaurant. Food is shareable, great quality, very tasty. Portions are about the right size for sharing for 2 people. Service was excellent. We also enjoyed sitting at the bar for a before dinner drink. Overall restaurant ambiance is a great mix of casual, chic, and "city". We look forward to a return visit. GooglePlace - August 2017

Service was efficient. Food was fine... cold, machine like robotic precision dropping my plates in front of me. I would describe the experience like this: the restaurant is gorgeous...like you think you're on a date with a pretty rich girl who has an Ivy League education but in reality you're paying for a garish, overpriced hooker (I mean escort). David hawksworth has been in the restaurant industry for several years but he never attended culinary school. Perhaps this is true of many well established chefs but I'm more confident in chefs who have received a traditional culinary education (not just by experience in the kitchen). GooglePlace - July 2017

Popped in for a quick lunch last week and although they were very busy kindly accommodated us is their upstairs area that views the busy kitchen. The food exceeded all expectations - you must have the heirloom tomato salad. So glad to have found this restaurant and will definitely be returning. Vancouver has some fabulous eat out places and this one is by far in my top 10. Thanks Nightingale for a fabulous dine in experience. Food, ambiance, staff are amazing and the food - just go there and try it. GooglePlace - July 2017
