This is my second time visiting and both times I have been happy with the service, the drinks, and the ambiance. There are several other cool bars and top notch restaurants in the Gastown area, but this one seems to be the most chill and directed at selling great drinks. Pourhouse used to be my go-to in Gastown. But no more. I suggested going there recently with friends. When we arrived the host asked if we'd be eating, drinking or both. We were taken aback when informed that we'd have to sit at the bar if only drinking. The place was dead and six people seated at a bar isn't exactly conducive to conversation - strike one. We decided to stay anyway and ordered a couple bottles of water while perusing the menu. After deciding on drinks we were told they didn't have any draft beer on tap. Neither the host nor the server informed us of this earlier. Instead of apologizing we were arrogantly informed that "this a cocktail bar" - strike two. We decided to leave and settle our bill: $12 for sparkling water. Any establishment with an inkling of customer service would've comped this - strike three. You're out, Pourhouse. Time to re-train your employees in basic customer service. GooglePlace - January 2018
