-A delicious concoction of beef and melted cheese that has become a sandwich of legendary proportions. Brothers Pat and Harry Olivieri invented the iconic sandwich at there hot dog stand near south Philadelphia's Italian Market in the 1930's. The cheesesteak became so popular that the pair stopped selling hot dogs all together, later opening the renowned Pats King of Steaks in the place where their stand once stood. Today Philadelphia has more than 200 restaurants dedicated to serving this indulgence. The American Cheesesteak Co. is proud to be the first Vancouver restaurant dedicated to this Italian-American tradition, serving authentic cheesesteaks crafted using the finest ingredients. Our sandwiches - made from tender shaved prime rib, proprietary seasonings, savory cheese and freshly baked bread - are individually prepared and grilled to order. In addition to the classic sandwich, we feature specialty cheesesteaks exclusive to the American Cheesesteak Co. These creations are our versions of the venerable classics and are not available anywhere else in North America.

Cheese steaks ? Never really tried one, so decided to give it shot. They make these cheese steak literary in front of you so you can smell everything and see everything they are doing, kind of a experience already. So what about the food? Maybe its just not my thing, but when I think steak, I think of thick juicy meat, what I got was thin sliced meat (resembles hot pot/shabushabu meat) The onions where also used to cook with the meat. And yes the cheese it was literary oozing out and was really gooy. However, for me that where it ends, all I tasted was cheese and onion, nothing else. the fries they served me was burnt and was really dry. Not sure if this is because of attempting to refry to get it to be crispy. Maybe this is just not my thing? But I kind of feel its like onion grilled cheese to me. Who knows give it a try, maybe you will like it GooglePlace - January 2018

Delicious cheesesteaks! The cheesesteak was made to order, meat was tender and juicy, and the fries were hot and crispy. The staff was very friendly and made great recommendations. Would definitely stop here after a night out on Granville Street. Make sure to stop by before midnight, since that's when it closes, not 3am! GooglePlace - January 2018

This was my first exposure to a cheesesteak and my word, damn! I loved it! The meat was taste, the cheese was gooey and the bun was the perfect softness to absorb all of that amazing meat juice and cheese! Service was friendly and the serving was absolutely huge. I’ve put this place on my ‘will visit again’ list. GooglePlace - January 2018

Went there once in the summer and couldn't stop thinking about going back. Finally had the chance again yesterday. It's one of the few places in Vancouver that I've ever really felt the need to return to, it's so good. Highly recommend The Cowboy. GooglePlace - December 2017
