The food is fine and largely made up of Swiss cheese fondue. The fondue is served with a bowl of bread and no other options as far as I could tell. The problem is that the staff didn't seem to care. The was one waitress who took over 30 minutes to arrive and then once we ordered pulled a lump of cheese out of a freezer which wasn't exactly what we had expected. For the price it was fine if you have time to soar twiddling your thumbs waiting for service, but why this place has such high marks amazes me. Go somewhere else. GooglePlace - December 2017

Restaurant Chamäleon is a nice cosy place just a street away from busy Vienna city center. It is a Swiss food place, so it only made sense to have cheese fondue. It was good but nothing special, just plenty of bread pieces, both white and wholegrain, and a huge pot of hot melted cheese. Besides Swiss fondues some Austrian dishes were served like schnitzel and goulash. It was a nice meal with a shot of cherry liquor at the end to help the digestion. I have enjoyed a little celebration here and would probably come again for an upgraded version of fondue with pickles, potatoes and other sides. GooglePlace - October 2017

Absolutely incredible food! Portions we're more than adequate and with outstanding quality. Service from our host was fantastic and they had a solid product knowledge. Next time I come to Vienna, I will absolutely eat here again! FIVE STARS! Thanks once again to the entire crew for a great evening and fantastic meal! GooglePlace - September 2017

We stumbled on this place whilst taking a shortcut down the secluded cobbled street it is situated on. We had a few excellent-quality and reasonably-priced drinks at one of the tables out the front. The combination of cobbles, beautiful Viennese architecture and quiet, despite being just a street back from the main areas, makes for a delightful stop. Would highly recommend!
