I have to say this place came as a total surprise to us. We just stumbled upon it during our walk through the old town. The place is small and dark but cozy I would say. It is painted and furnished in an old style way which somehow plays with the home like atmosphere. It is completely non suggestive. And you wouldn’t it to be anything special just by looking at it from the outside or inside. But wait until you order! The food is DELICIOUS as is the coffee! Perhaps a bit more roasted than perfect but still way better than anything else in the area. This place has among the best pizza and pasta in Vienna. Much better than Vapiano! The owner is a funny guy. He looked cranky but then give us a big smile. :-) GooglePlace - April 2018

One star is for the racist waiter. We are two women in our 20s and we have travelled from Finland and UK to Vienna to visit a dear friend and enjoy the city. We were having a very pleasant day so far when we took a lunch break at La Norma. The waiter didn't speak much English but that was totally fine with us. After finishing our meals, I asked for the check on my way to the bathroom. When I went back to our table, my friend has informed me that the waiter had made a very racist comment that ruined her mood and that we shouldn't leave a tip. She later told me that while I was in the bathroom, the waiter has asked her where we were from. She told him that she was Finnish and I was Turkish. He shockingly asked her if I was Muslim and she hesitantly answered: No. His response was a relieved "Oh, good." Mind you, this is a restaurant located in the 1st district of Vienna, the touristic center of the city. GooglePlace - February 2018
