I love this place, because of the atmosphere and the typical Austrian dishes you can try there. I highly recommend the Tafelspitz (boiled beef meal, favourite dish of Emperor Franz Joseph). It is also a great place to celebrate special moments with your loved ones! GooglePlace - January 2018

(I went over the summer.) The food was absolutely delicious, and quite flavorful. I also loved the atmosphere. The waiters were polite and weren't *overly* friendly, which is how I like it. After all, it's often annoying when the waiter/waitress constantly comes back to check on your food. As they did with everyone else, they of course prepared much of the food for us. I would definitely like to come back here again! GooglePlace - December 2017

Unbelievable poor service. My friend booked a reservation to this restaurant after reading countless positive reviews about this place. Needless to say our expectations were way too high for the actual service. Not only that the waiter and the busboy treated us with discourtesy. The waiter also mocked us in German after the whole experience was over. Right off the bat, the girl at the front fest did not asked us if we would like them to hang our coats. While ordering , my friend who has a tiny appetite asked for a main course and said: “that’s it.” The waiter rudely replied: “ one is not enough.” Completely ignoring the fact that my friend and I have also opened up our menu, meaning that we were ready to order. When we finished ordering, the busboy dumped the plates on the table without describing the food, then asked my friend to remove her phone from the table, impolitely of course. My friend who has been a formal waitress commented on how unprofessional he was, his hands were shaking, almost dropping the plates. The waiter never took away our plates and asked us if we wanted anything else. I wanted to order a dessert but after being ignored, I gave up that idea. At the end,we wanted our bills separated, to which the busboy said he could not do. We then asked the waiter who eventually did separated our bills. When he asked me if I had the salad, I did not understand at first due to his accent, he then looked at me, contemptuous and speechless. Then he went off to his colleagues mocking me by mimicking my impatient gestures and laughing. The only thing right that he had done right this evening was to X out the option of giving him tips. I’m still in rage about what have happened. It’s outrageous for a famous restaurant that’s on the pricey side. For such unprofessional and atrocious service, it’s fair enough to say that it was an eye opening experience that I have not seen in other 4 European countries that I’ve visited this time. Nor in Canada or the states, or anywhere in the world. I’m sad that a restaurant like this does not regulate their service. Even though the food was okay, I would not recommend anyone to go somewhere that treat clients like this. GooglePlace - December 2017

I went to this restaurant after it was recommended by a friend when I visited Vienna last year. I am writing a review now as I was looking for it to recommend it myself to another friend! I can literally remember the taste of the lovely beef stew yet! The atmosphere is great and the food is lovely! Little pricey but definitely worth the try! GooglePlace - December 2017

The beef soup is so tasty!! It’s one of the best meals I have in Vienna. The wine we tried was also very good. We sat in the outdoor area since indoor seating was not available. My friend and I were freezing outside since it doesn’t have enough heater. By the end of meal, I can see the fat from the beef soup floating on top. Next time, I’ll make a reservation first.
