I normally don’t write reviews but I felt I should here. A large group of us went to Weingut am Reisenberg last year for an event. I won’t go into details of the event here – our hosts went to a lot of time and effort to organise it, and I don’t want them to think it reflects on them in any way. They chose a venue which looked very good on the marketing, and objectively it does look good on the marketing – the photos of the interior and exterior views look great.
But I feel that I have to mention the general service and attitude. I’ve heard that Austrian waiters can be rude, and that this is a “thing” apparently in Austria, and we did have a bit of that at a couple of the other places we went to when we were in Vienna, but this seemed to be something completely incomparable. And it wasn’t just one waiter, it was all of the ones who served us. It almost seemed like they didn’t want us there. I’ve spoken to many of the others who were there, both at the time and since, and they all feel the same way (I see that a couple have already posted reviews). I can see that there are a lot of five star reviews here as well, so maybe it was an exception, but if you’re spending a lot of money on something like this, you don’t want any chance of this happening.
